RMF requires that all coaches have NCCP Safe Contact training. The Safe Contact course covers the philosophy of coaching practices and games to intentionally maximize player health and performance, as well as the specific skill progressions for blocking, tackling and block defending. July 23rd, July 25th & 26th, and Aug 8th & 9th are dates we will be having safe contact training for all coaches. Mighty Mite coaches will recieve their safe contact training at the Mighty Mites kick off camp Aug 5th, 6th & 7th.
National Coaching Certification Program
RMF and Football Saskatchewan provide NCCP training for coaches who want to improve their overall competency, and to work toward nationally recognized certification. The Introduction to Competition training is intended for youth coaches who are working with athletes at the developmental stage (in RMF, Mighty Mites, Atom, Pee Wee, Bantam and Girls Tackle). The first step is to be trained as a Position Coach, followed by Coordinator and then Head Coach. Certification includes taking the course, doing some independent work and/or learning, and then a practical component to complete certification.
